Tracking the 2016 Governors Races

There were 12 gubernatorial races on Tuesday. Going into them, Republicans made up a historically large 31-18 majority of governors. (There's one independent, Bill Walker of Alaska.)

With elections in Montana and North Carolina still too close to call, Democrats have lost power in three states.
