The photo of Ralph Northam’s yearbook that surfaced yesterday is both racist and inexcusable. It is time for Gov. Northam to step aside and allow Virginia to move forward.

Statement from the Democratic Governors Association, referring to a photo on the Virginia governor's medical school yearbook page with one person dressed in blackface and another as a member of the Ku Klux Klan. After initially apologizing for appearing in the photo, Northam backtracked and said he does not believe he is one of the people in it. He has since refused to resign.
