Rep. Kristin Jacobs (FL) appointed to State Hurricane Committee

Climate mitigation expert, former Broward County Mayor, and Women in Government Class of 2015 member will serve on statewide committee to tackle future severe weather events

Rep. Kristin Jacobs (Class of 2015), a climate change expert, has been appointed to serve on the Florida House Select Committee on Hurricane Response and Preparedness. She is the former Mayor of Broward County, FL and served on President Obama’s State, Local and Tribal Task Force on Climate Preparedness.

The Committee will “assess the recent experience and pinpoint tangible, meaningful ways to improve Florida’s hurricane readiness and response capabilities,” said House Speaker Richard Corcoran. See the news coverage here with a listing of the committee's members and roles.
