- Leadership Forum 2011 attendee from the
North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services
Governing today is more complex than ever, with fluctuating revenues, increasing service demands, population growth, aging infrastructure and an economy in transition. For 25 years, state and local leaders have looked to GOVERNING for the information, insight, and inspiration they need to govern effectively. What are other states and regions doing? What strategies have worked to meet specific challenges and why? Who are the thought leaders and influencers worth listening to? What should leadership and policy priorities be given current economic and political realities?
GOVERNING’s Leadership Forum Series brings public and private sector executives together for meaningful dialogue on how to effectively lead our states and localities.
Convened in strategic states, each forum will be a unique gathering of senior managers, elected officials and industry leaders. The program for each forum will be developed through an advisory board comprised of government executives from the region and private sector thought leaders. Together, public and private sector leaders – coupled with the unique and authoritative editorial perspective of GOVERNING – will identify the most pressing issues faced by each region and explore the strategies, trends and best practices for meeting the challenges ahead.
Developing an Open Dialogue The event will be discussion-driven, designed to engage forum attendees early and often. Brief presentations will allow for optimum audience interaction, and GOVERNING editorial will be involved in event delivery. Event participants will receive an unparalleled opportunity to develop and foster relationships and partnerships with state and local leadership and colleagues.
