Governing U is an index of public sector management and policy degrees from universities across the country. It provides a single source for browsing offerings from Master of Public Administration (MPA) , the Master of Public Policy (MPP) and the Executive MPA and certificate and other professional programs designed specifically for the education needs of working professionals in public service. Each entry includes a description of program offerings in the schools' own words. Governing U’s unique map interface also allows you to see the national landscape for public service grad programs and select schools for a closer look by geography
We have an exciting variety of specializations, a talented and nationally-known faculty, and a tremendous group of students that you will join for your studies. The Askew School grants one of the oldest master’s degrees in the country dating back to 1947.
Askew School graduate students have presented their research papers at regional and national public affairs conferences, getting substantial funding from the Askew School to participate in these professional meetings.
Askew’s two widely regarded specializations have also been highly popular with program students and community-professionals: our certificates (and MPA specializations) in nonprofit and public management, and in emergency management. The following specializations are sponsored by the School:
• Local Government Administration,
• Human Resource Management,
• Public Budgeting and Financial Management,
• Information Resource Management,
• Leadership and Strategic Management,
• Policy Analysis and Evaluation,
• Nonprofit Management
• Emergency and Environmental Management, and
• Health Services Policy and Administration.
The Askew School has strong ties with people and agencies in both state and local governments, and can assist with short-term work assignments for students who have not yet gained much work experience so that upon graduation, you are well-prepared for your interviews and job hunt.
