Gslcover This could be considered tooting my own horn, except I had nothing to do with this.

Governing's textbook, Governing States and Localities, has won a 2008 Textbook Excellence Award from the Text and Academic Authors Association.

The award -- called the "Texty" (presumably by only the Text and Academic Authors Association itself) -- will be given out at the Association's conference in Las Vegas in June.

Congrats to the textbook's authors!

About

Written and compiled by staff writers and editors, GOVERNING View is an on-the-ground, and sometimes behind-the-scenes, look at the topics we're covering in print and online. From notes on what's up in statehouses, county courthouses and city halls, to encounters with people, places and things, GOVERNING View is a window into the side of state and local government you don't always see.
