Other Cheaters Weigh In

Former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey was booked on the Today show and says honesty is Sanford's best policy.

Says McGreevey: "He can be that much more of a better governor because it's admitting his nature, understanding the wrongs."

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani offered the same advice yesterday on Fox:

His advice to Sanford, based on his own experience: "Tell the truth. Just tell the truth."

No word yet from Eliot Spitzer, Bob Wise, John Edwards, David Vitter.... I'm sure John Ensign as the next most junior member of the club, and a sitting senator, will be asked about this.

About

Written and compiled by staff writers and editors, GOVERNING View is an on-the-ground, and sometimes behind-the-scenes, look at the topics we're covering in print and online. From notes on what's up in statehouses, county courthouses and city halls, to encounters with people, places and things, GOVERNING View is a window into the side of state and local government you don't always see.
