Update: In March we wrote about a topless coffee shop in Maine and the ordinance banning nudity that it inspired.
Well, don't plan your trip to Maine just yet. The Grand View Coffee Shop was destroyed by fire early June 3. (On the off chance you were planning a visit.)
According to a story on Fox News, "The fire happened only hours after [owner] Crabtree met with town planners to discuss making it more like a strip club, with longer hours and dancing."
Coincidence?

Written and compiled by staff writers and editors, GOVERNING View is an on-the-ground, and sometimes behind-the-scenes, look at the topics we're covering in print and online. From notes on what's up in statehouses, county courthouses and city halls, to encounters with people, places and things, GOVERNING View is a window into the side of state and local government you don't always see.
