Guns and Dorms

Stateline.org reports that the Virginia Tech shootings have already inspired legislation, with a Louisiana state representative dropping a bill that would make it clear that state universities can ban guns from dormitories.

Recall that Melissa Maynard wrote last month in this space about legislation in Utah that went the opposite way, preventing universities from banning guns.

The Virginia legislature this year refused to pass Utah-style legislation, according to the Stateline.org story. Imagine the heat they'd be taking now if they had.
