In an interview with the Christian Science Monitor , LAPD Chief William Bratton talks about that and all the other ways in which policing LA is different from any other city in the country. Bratton, of course, also served as police chief in New York and in Boston. Last month, he was unanimously approved for a second five-year term heading up LA's troubled police department.
Also, be sure to watch for the August issue of Governing, which will feature a story on Bratton's various proteges, who have now spread out in different cities across the country.
