Here in Austin for the Managing Performance conference, LAPD chief Bill Bratton made some amazing points about his efforts to apply a data-driven mindset to reducing crime in L.A. and, earlier, in New York City.
But he also talked more broadly about being an agent of change, and where he gets some inspiration for making a difference. He mentioned a few of the most important articles and books he's read on the subject. Here are his favorites:
