Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, a Democrat, has won reelection. Napolitano rejected a pay increase for herself and the modest pay for the office is one reason that some high-profile Republicans decided not to challenge her. This is a lesson some legislators in Pennsylvania should heed: Pay and job security are often inversely proportional, and the latter is almost always more important than the former.
