VA-Gov: Movement Toward Deeds?

Public Policy Polling's Tom Jensen loves to drop hints about his upcoming surveys. Here's what he wrote over the weekend about his firm's upcoming poll of the Democratic primary for governor:

That one's a surprise so far too although we'll be in the field a couple more days. Looks like the WaPo endorsement could really make a difference.

State Senator Creigh Deeds recently received the endorsement of the Washington Post. At times, Deeds has been the forgotten man in the three-way race, but he appears to be closing strong.

In Public Policy Polling's previous poll, Terry McAuliffe was at 29%, with Deeds and Brian Moran each at 20% and the rest undecided. So, if Deeds really has gained ground since then, he must nearly be neck-and-neck with McAuliffe.

About

GOVERNING Politics is the place for news and analysis on campaigns and elections. If there's a ballot measure in California, a legislative election in Alabama, a mayoral election in Anchorage or a governor's race in Rhode Island, GOVERNING Politics probably is writing about it. We love everything about state and local politics, from polls and campaign ads to policy debates and demographic trends.
