Troubling Signs for Spitzer
I just got off the phone with a current New York state senator and a former one -- I was asking about Lt. Gov. David Paterson.
I expected they'd be reluctant to talk given that Spitzer still hasn't made a decision. They weren't.
I also expected they'd hedge their statements about a Paterson governorship with a lot of "ifs." They didn't.
At this point, it seems as though most people in New York would be surprised if Spitzer decided to try to stick it out.
