Seemingly washed up pop singers certainly have a lot of options these days. They can appear as a guest "mentor" on American Idol, or set up residency in either Branson or Las Vegas. In fact, touring wrinkled acts with dyed hair and boomer appeal are just about the only thing keeping the music industry profitable.
But there's yet one more spotlight available to the aging pop star, if he gets in the presidential endorsement game. Ahead of Tuesday's primary in Puerto Rico, Hillary Clinton takes pride in the endorsement of (listen up, fence-sitters) Ricky Martin:
I am honored to have Ricky Martin's support. In addition to his great talent, Ricky is committed to improving the world through his philanthropic work, and I am grateful for his support. His is a very important voice in the Latino community and together we will work to improve the lives of families and children across the country.

GOVERNING Politics is the place for news and analysis on campaigns and elections. If there's a ballot measure in California, a legislative election in Alabama, a mayoral election in Anchorage or a governor's race in Rhode Island, GOVERNING Politics probably is writing about it. We love everything about state and local politics, from polls and campaign ads to policy debates and demographic trends.
