Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer helped push the "Where's Sanford" story along, letting it be known that he was indignant that he hadn't been informed that the governor had left the state and that he hadn't been put in charge.
Bauer wants to win the top job next year (or sooner) and clearly chafed at the fact that Sanford had all but endorsed a rival, state Rep. Nikki Haley, calling her a "terrific and inspiring choice."
