Yesterday, Republican Congressman Pete Hoekstra announced he won't be seeking reelection in 2010. Most people expect him to run for governor instead.

With Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm term-limited out, lots of prominent Republicans are expected to take their shot, including state Attorney General Mike Cox.

Democratic* Lt. Gov. John Cherry is expected to run and may enjoy some incumbency advantages if Granholm snags one of the remaining Cabinet posts, such as Labor.
