E-mail: mailbox@governing.comOregon Attorney General Hardy Myers is stepping down. So far, no Republican has entered the race, so all the battling is between the two Dems, state Rep. Greg Macpherson and John Kroger, a former federal prosecutor.
Myers endorsed Macpherson the other day. That came one day after SEIU, the state's biggest union endorsed Kroger.
The Oregonian runs down the scorecard:
Macpherson and Kroger have battled for months over key endorsements. Macpherson has the support of Gov. Ted Kulongoski, former Gov. Barbara Roberts, Rep. Darlene Hooley, D-Ore., the Oregon League of Conservation Voters and three dozen state legislators.
Kroger has the support for [Sic] former Gov. John Kitzhaber, a majority of the Portland City Council, the Sierra Club, the state's largest union and a large group of elected district attorneys.

GOVERNING Politics is the place for news and analysis on campaigns and elections. If there's a ballot measure in California, a legislative election in Alabama, a mayoral election in Anchorage or a governor's race in Rhode Island, GOVERNING Politics probably is writing about it. We love everything about state and local politics, from polls and campaign ads to policy debates and demographic trends.
