A Republican Win in Delaware

posted by Josh Goodman

Here's one I missed: Republicans picked up a Delaware state Senate seat previously held by a Democrat in a special election on Monday (a Monday election?). The News Journal has the details:

State Rep. Joe Booth will be moving from the House to the Senate after his victory Monday in the special election for Thurman Adams' former Senate seat, a win that opens up an immediate scramble for Booth's current post.

...

The Georgetown lawmaker, a former mayor, councilman and school board member who campaigned on his experience, won a four-way race to succeed Adams, who died in June.

Booth won with 4,335 votes. Adams' daughter, Polly Adams Mervine, netted 2,083 votes.
