Some Good News for a Change

Anyone looking for inspiration would have found it at the Innovations in American Government Awards dinner, held tonight in Washington DC.

I wish I could give a dinner for every elected official, public sector manager, and front-line public employee who is doing their level best to make government better, faster, and cheaper.

If you know of any public innovators, please let us know about them. Email me at innovations@harvard.edu. And if you want to comment on any of the winning programs, leave a comment here-we'll pass it along.

Stephen Goldsmith is a professor of government at the Harvard Kennedy School. He was formerly the two-term mayor of Indianapolis and deputy mayor for operations for New York City.
