Getting Big Things Done in Government




John O'Leary on C-SPAN's "Washington Journal" talks about his recent Washington Post piece, "Can the U.S. Still Tackle Big Problems? Lessons from the Health Care Battle." For his recent book, If We Can Put A Man on the Moon, O'Leary studied more than 75 major U.S. government initiatives since World War II, exploring their successes and failures.



 


Stephen Goldsmith is a professor of government at the Harvard Kennedy School. He was formerly the two-term mayor of Indianapolis and deputy mayor for operations for New York City.
