Danielle M. Gonzales is asistant director for policy with the Education and Society Program at the Aspen Institute. A senior program officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation from 2009-2015, Gonzales also has worked at the Pew Charitable Trusts and at the U.S. Department of Education with the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans. She began her career as a fourth-grade teacher in Brownsville, Texas.

Gonzales earned her bachelor's degree in political science and Spanish language and literature from George Washington University and her master's degree in education from the University of Notre Dame.
