Christopher Gergen is founding executive director of Bull City Forward, a nonprofit focused on catalyzing sustainable enterprise in Durham, N.C.

Bull City Forward complements Gergen’s role as an adjunct faculty member at the Entrepreneurial Leadership Initiative at Duke University as well as his position as "Innovator in Residence" at the Center for Creative Leadership.

He is a founding partner of Life Entrepreneurs LLC, a leadership development and consulting firm, and co-author of the book "Life Entrepreneurs: Ordinary People Creating Extraordinary Lives." He co-founded Smarthinking Inc., which became the leading online tutoring provider in the United States.

He co-authors a bi-weekly column on social innovation for the Raleigh News & Observer and the Charlotte Observer.
